Any object which is waterproof, dry, contains a reasonable cavity and a small defendable entrance, might be a great home for honeybees.

I remember the owner of this plastic compost bin being not best pleased with its new occupants.

The honeybees made really large pieces of comb, which made removing the bees that extra bit awkward. This was because the bees preferred being on the comb than the nucleus hive that I brought them.

In the end, I had to place my smoker inside the compost bin to encourage the bees out.
