Contact

Thank-you for getting in touch – you can contact us by going to the bottom of this page.

We do read your emails, though we are constrained by the modest amount of time and resources available to us.

IMPORTANT BIT SO PLEASE READ: Below is a list of topic areas and answers – so you don’t need to ask.

1 SWARMS.
As a general rule we don’t collect them – to find a swarm collector visit this website: https://www.bbka.org.uk/find-a-local-swarm-collector

2 WHAT DO WE SELL?
Everything we sell can be found on my shop: https://www.beehiveyourself.co.uk/shop/
If it is not there, then we don’t sell it.

For the avoidance of doubt we do NOT sell:

  • Royal Jelly;
  • Beeswax wraps;
  • Beeswax candles;
  • Soft set honey but we hope to do this line one day;
  • Beeswax balm, again maybe one day.

3 WHERE CAN I BUY YOUR HONEY?
Assuming you wish to us to deliver to a UK postal address, you can buy our honey here:

4 HOW LONG DOES HONEY LAST FOR?
In terms of how long honey lasts, there are three things to keep in mind.

Firstly, honey is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs water from the air; if the water content of rises above 20 percent you risk fermentation — so put the lid on after the jar is opened.

Secondly, runny honey granulates over time (real honey does this); this is not a quality issue, just a preference as to whether you wish the honey to be hard or runny should you store it for a period of time.  Granulation can be remedied by gentle heating (instructions on back of each jar).  Also, don’t keep it in the fridge or in a cold place as this propagates granulation.

Thirdly, extreme heat can degrade the honey’s quality — be careful keeping it in a car during a sunny day.

We usually put a two year ‘best before’ date on the jars from the day they are filled – that being said, honey has been found in the pyramids which still edible.

5 I LIVE OUTSIDE THE UK – CAN YOU SEND (EXPORT) HONEY TO ME?
Sorry, we can’t do that.

6 DELIVERY/POSTAGE CHARGES
The information about delivery can be found on this page:
https://www.beehiveyourself.co.uk/delivery-postage/

7 DO YOU GIVE DISCOUNTS?
No. We run on tight margins, and to be honest with you, we should be charging more for our honey.

8 DO YOU GIVE IN-PERSON TALKS?
Never say never but we:

  • do not own a laptop, projector or projector screen.
  • would have to spend time and energy creating the talk from scratch.
  • would have to spend time, energy and petrol getting to you.

For us to agree, you would have to convince us that you are genuinely interested in what we do, and it would be worthy of our time.

9 YOU SAY OUR WEBSITE IS RUBBISH – BUT YOUR COMPANY WILL MEND IT, IMPROVE THE SEO, DRIVE WEB TRAFFIC ETC.

  • Sorry, not taking the bait.
