Because of encounters with humans today, I’ve decided to begin a ‘Taxonomy of Human Zoo Creatures’ – this is No. 1 in the series.
Today’s specimen is entitled Posh Horsey Animals or EPHAs – certainly a bunch of effers.
The party came towards me, riding four abreast on a trackway (public right of way). I graciously stepped aside onto the verge to let them pass. It was raining and I had my umbrella up.
Lucinda was on foot and approached me: ‘Sorry, could you put your umbrella away, the horses are a bit skittish?’
‘I’ve never met royalty before,’ I responded, and duly put my umbrella down and suffered the rain.
I proceeded to tug my forelock both to Lucinda and her smiling porcine husband.
Anyway, being gracious is for the birds – I encourage you to be ignorant.
